Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Simon Reid is a highly respected songwriter, producer, mixing/mastering engineer, and session musician, with roots in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Early Life & Education
Simon began creating music in his bedroom from age 14 and pursued formal training at Edinburgh Napier University, earning a BA (Hons) in Popular Music in 2006. He later signed his first publishing deal in London in 2007 before relocating to Nashville in 2012 and securing a publishing agreement on Music Row in 2014.
Career Highlights & Collaborations
With over 20 years of experience, Simon has produced tracks for ABC Family’s 10 Things I Hate About You, co-written for the British Red Cross Appeal Week, and performed for the Orbison family during events linked to Roy Orbison tribute albums.
He's won 1st place in the Pacific Songwriting Competition (Pop/Ballad category) and was selected for the BBC Radio 2 Songwriters’ Academy in 2008.

Co-writing “My Voice” with Kalie Shorr and Fred Wilhelm, along with other tracks like “Angry Butterfly”, featured on Shorr’s debut album Open Book, which was named #7 on the New York Times’ Best Albums of 2019 list and featured on Variety’s best country albums of the decade lists.
Creating the track “All That Pretty Love” for Atom & Breathe, and producing music for Jordana Bryant’s Christmas EP with Seth Mosley and Zach Kale, released on Riser House Records.
Collaborating with popular children’s music creators Bounce Patrol (including their project with The Wiggles), contributing songs that have collectively amassed over 1 billion streams.
